SOFReady is built by someone who values honesty — on the field and off it. This policy tells you exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and how you can control it. We don't hide anything in fine print. Read it.
1. Who We Are
SOFReady ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered fitness coaching application developed and operated by Ben Masek, doing business as SOFReady (sofready.ai). Our contact email is founder@sofready.ai.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Name and email address (account creation)
- Fitness goal (e.g., SFAS prep, bodybuilding, general fitness)
- Current fitness metrics — body weight, body fat percentage, fitness level
- Training history, workout logs, and set/rep/weight data you enter
- Progress photos you voluntarily upload
- Benchmark scores you record (ruck pace, pull-ups, run times, etc.)
- Nutrition preferences and dietary information
Information collected automatically:
- Device type and operating system version
- App usage patterns and feature interactions (via Firebase Analytics)
- Crash reports and error logs (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- IP address and general location (country/region level only)
- Subscription and purchase status (via RevenueCat)
Information we do NOT collect:
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts, calendar, or microphone data
- Social media accounts or third-party profiles
- Financial information (payments are handled by Apple — we never see your card)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To generate your personalized training program — your fitness data is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to produce a program specific to your goal and current ability
- To display your progress — workout history, benchmark scores, and progress photos are stored and shown back to you
- To improve the app — anonymous usage data helps us understand which features work and which don't
- To process your subscription — RevenueCat manages subscription status on our behalf
- To communicate with you — important updates, support responses, and (if you opt in) marketing emails
- To comply with legal obligations — we keep records as required by applicable law
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising targeting. We do not share your health or fitness data with third parties except as described in Section 4.
4. Third-Party Services
SOFReady uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, analytics, and crash reporting. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — your fitness profile data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your training program. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. Anthropic Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription status. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store — processes all payments. Apple's privacy practices govern payment data.
We do not share your data with any other third parties without your explicit consent.
5. Health and Fitness Data
SOFReady collects fitness-related information including body weight, body fat percentage, workout performance, and progress photos. This information is sensitive and we treat it as such:
- Your fitness data is stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules that only allow you to access your own data
- Progress photos are stored in Firebase Storage in a private folder accessible only to your authenticated account
- We do not integrate with Apple Health or HealthKit — your SOFReady data stays in SOFReady
- Fitness data sent to Anthropic's API for program generation is processed in real-time and not stored by Anthropic for model training
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile, workout history, benchmark scores, and progress photos are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Anonymous, aggregated usage analytics may be retained (these cannot identify you)
- We may retain records required by law for up to 7 years (e.g., transaction records)
7. Your Rights and Controls
You have the following rights over your data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — update inaccurate information through the app or by contacting us
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing us
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from any marketing email at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us
To exercise any of these rights, email founder@sofready.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
SOFReady is intended for users 17 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at founder@sofready.ai.
9. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data including:
- Firebase security rules requiring authenticated access to all user data
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Firebase's encrypted at-rest storage
- No storage of payment information (handled entirely by Apple)
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you of any breach that affects your data as required by applicable law.
10. International Users
SOFReady is operated from the United States. If you access the app from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using SOFReady, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR for European users and CCPA for California residents.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via email or an in-app notification if the changes are material. Your continued use of SOFReady after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- The right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- The right to delete personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
